It’s nothing but up for Cardi B!
The rapper, 31, and her estranged husband, Offset, have welcomed their third baby together more than a month after Cardi filed for divorce.
“The prettiest lil thing,” Cardi captioned a Sept. 12 Instagram post alongside pictures of herself, Offset, 32, and their two older kids, Kulture, 6, and Wave, 3, at the hospital.
Cardi also noted the birthdate as “9/7/24.”
The “WAP” rapper first announced her pregnancy on Aug. 1, hours after filing for divorce from the Migos star.
Cardi took to Instagram to showcase her bump in an elegant red gown, sharing with followers: “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all!”
“You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do,” she continued. “It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to pushthrough!”
The mother-of-three requested primary custody of their kids, along with child support, from Offset, according to her divorce filing.
The petition stated that the on-again, off-again couple had “experienced irreconcilable differences that have caused the breakdown of the marriage” and that “there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation.”
Cardi and Offset tied the knot in 2017 and have taken time apart throughout their marriage. The two first went their separate ways in 2018 amid cheating rumors.
They publicly reunited in 2019, attending events and award shows together before calling it quits in 2020. At the time, Cardi filed for divorce before dismissing the proceedings later that year.
Fast-forward to 2023, and the duo had once again broken up. In December, Cardi shared on her Instagram Live, “I’ve been single for a minute now, but I have been afraid to like—not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign. The last time I got on Live I kind of wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you, so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now. I just took it as a sign.”
She confessed that she was looking for a fresh start at the time.
“I wanna start 2024, like, fresh, open,” said the superstar. “I don’t know. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited.”
This past May, after a brief reconciliation on New Year’s, the “Up” singer reflected on the state of her relationship with Offset.
“I think it through,” Cardi told Rolling Stone. ‘We think it through, because we do love each other. It’s not even about love. We’re best friends. And it’s like, ‘OK. Well, there was a time that I didn’t have a best friend, or I didn’t have a support system.’”
Cardi added, “It’s not even about ‘How do you leave a partner?’ How do you stop talking to your best friend?”
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper admitted she put her career and kids before her partner.
“Sometimes I don’t realize that I’m putting so many things before my relationship,” shared Cardi.
Despite the exes’ ups and downs, Cardi cherishes their close bond.
“The part I love is that we really like each other, like a support system,” she added. “We’re really both each other’s cheerleader.”
Offset was the first partner to lift Cardi up instead of tearing her down.
“He never made me feel like I was little to him,” she explained. “He actually always used to tell me, ‘You a f–king superstar, watch.’”
