Jets head coach Robert Saleh confirmed there is belief that edge rusher Jermaine Johnson tore his Achilles in Sunday’s 24-17 win over the Titans in Nashville.
Johnson was carted off the field after suffering a non-contact injury following an attempted sack on Tennessee quarterback Will Levis in the third quarter.
Once Levis was out of reach, Johnson collapsed while attempting to run.
Tests will be conducted on Monday to confirm, Saleh added.
Jets defensive lineman Solomon Thomas came over and embraced Johnson, as did several other members of the Jets as he was carted off the field.
In his third season with the Jets, Johnson has totaled 56 tackles, 10 sacks and one touchdown.
