LUKE LITTLER showed his class by celebrating as opponent Michael Smith netted the Big Fish at the World Series of Darts final.

The two men battled it out for the £80,000 prize at last night’s showpiece event in Amsterdam.

But it was Littler, 17, who emerged victorious with a stunning 11-4 win.

He also thrashed defending champion and local favourite Michael van Gerwen in the semis.

And Littler’s win saw him secure his eighth title of 2024.

However, the most impressive throw of the night went to Smith.

With Littler just one leg away from victory, his fellow Brit needed a Big Fish finish to check out.

The term is used in darts to describe a 170 score to end a leg, with players requiring pinpoint accuracy to hit two T20s and the bull.

Amazingly, Smith managed to do just that to secure his fourth and final leg of the match.

The crowd went wild as he nodded cooly while collecting his darts.

But it was Littler who really got the party going as he toasted Smith’s three throws by pretending to reel in a fish.

This spurred Smith on to also pretend he had a fishing rod, with the two men then bumping fists before Littler secured the match.

Fans loved the moment too, with one declaring: “The best sport on earth.”

Another boomed: “Proper boyos them.”

One noted: “Sport at its best.”

Another added: “The banter amongst the group is great to see.”

Speaking afterwards, Littler reflected on his incredible year so far.

The teen ace said: “I’m just happy to win. It’s been a long day of course.

“Waking up early, didn’t like that one. I managed to get over the line against Chris (Dobey). I relaxed tonight and I played very well.

On the fans chanting his name, he added: “It tells me there’s only one Luke Littler!

“This time last year I was on the Development Tour. I won a few events and my name was getting mentioned.

“But at the Worlds, that’s when everyone knew who I was.

“The trophies I’ve won, the finals I’ve lost this year, I’m just building on it and I’m winning more.

“It will take some beating this weekend. It’s a busy schedule with the winter to come. I’m ready for it.”

Inside Littler's massive rise

LUKE LITTLER has taken the darts world by storm since exploding onto the scene at the PDC World Championship at the beginning of the year.

The Nuke reached the final on his Ally Pally debut at just 16 years of age – smashing records along the way.

He has then gone on to win a host of PDC events and the Premier League title – which he claimed at the O2 Arena by beating world champion Luke Humphries in May.

He also finished his first season in the World Series as the No1 ranked player.

He has joined Jude Bellingham on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.

And the teenage titan even had to snub an invite from the WWE.

The Sun exclusively revealed that Littler is plotting to create a fitness empire.

He is also cashing in away from the Oche thanks to an Instagram side hustle.

And he’s even the face of a brand new cereal.

But he is newly single after splitting from girlfriend Eloise Milburn following a 10-month relationship.
