Late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel took a moment from his usual Trump tirade to rib Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was recently caught cheating on his wife Cheryl Hines on the campaign trail.
Kimmel called out “Trump’s buddy” Kennedy for his recent “sexting scandal” with New York Magazine‘s Washington correspondent Olivia Nuzzi. As Kimmel explained, Nuzzi was put on leave from the publication for not disclosing the “personal relationship” she struck up with the former presidential candidate on the campaign trail.
“The story says Kennedy was bragging to his friends that Nuzzi sent shots of herself nude, which are the only shots he will get, by the way,” Kimmel said, poking fun at Kennedy’s anti-vax history.
He continued, “Nuzzi claims the relationship was not physical. She was mostly attracted to the worm in his brain.”
Nuzzi released a statement after the news broke, claiming their relationship “turned personal” but “was never physical.”
It “should have been disclosed to prevent the appearance of a conflict. I deeply regret not doing so immediately and apologize to those I’ve disappointed, especially my colleagues at New York,” she said.
A spokesperson for Kennedy also told the The New York Times that he met Nuzzi “once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece,” referring to a profile New York Magazine published in November 2023 when he was still in the race.
Kennedy has since dropped out of the election and endorsed Trump.
Kimmel has certainly been having his fun this election season. While he begins almost every broadcast blasting Trump, the late night host has been poking fun at this election cycle’s more absurd moments. He recently took a moment from the broadcast to listen to his “constituents” rant about Senator J.D. Vance’s alleged attraction to couches.
In the skit, an audience member dressed like an Ikea employee claimed Vance “mounted a Mörabo” and “was even seen fondling a Kïvïk,” both of which are sofas. “He’s one sick son of a b****,” he griped.
“Oh my god, this guy really has the hots for couch-type furniture,” Kimmel commented.
Jimmy Kimmel Live airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
