A woman who allegedly stabbed her three children to death before fleeing into the French Alps has been found dead in Switzerland.
French police launched a massive manhunt after Deborah Bell, 45, fled from the small town of Taninges, leaving behind a letter.
On Tuesday, the bodies of two boys, aged 2 and 11, and a 13-year-old girl were found in the family home near the Swiss border.
After fleeing in an Audi SUV, the 45-year-old teacher was found dead in her car in the Chambery region of Switzerland, according to Le Dauphiné Libre newspaper.
The cause of her death is currently unknown.
It turns out that this horrific discovery was made by the children's grandparents.
Previous reports reported that the father of the youngest child found the bodies.
French policemen launched an investigation and searched for the French-Swiss national along with helicopter crews and diving teams.
Investigators requested assistance from Swiss authorities in their search, who flagged her car as it passed into the country.
Bonneville Public Prosecutor Boris Dufau confirmed, “The Swiss authorities found the body of a woman in the car usually used by the mother of three children.”
The mother was a school teacher in nearby Marnaz, where she reportedly transferred from the Adeline Malgrande School in Samoens.
According to French media, the transfer took place after a petition from parents, who reported that she was too strict with the children.
She was said to be involved in the local community, primarily as a member of the Samoa Municipal Assembly.
