The Chiefs announced they have begun selling tickets for a Wild Card playoff game.

The franchise will participate in the potential matchup if it is the division winner or the seventh-seeded Wild Card team.

The two teams will face each other for a spot in the playoffs, which has left the team in a confusing situation.

The post read: “Potential Home Wild Card Game tickets are on sale now!”

The Chiefs currently lead the AFC West division and are likely to be one of the playoff favorites.

This has led fans to claim that the game will not be necessary as they expect the team to be the top seed.

The top-seeded team gets a bye directly into the Divisional Round and advances to the Wild Card stage.

“I won't need it,” one fan posted.

Another commented: “As if we were going to play in the wild.”

A third wrote: “So how does this work when the leaders get the one seed?”

Kansas City Chiefs star Mike Pennell's car was stolen before teammate Patrick Mahomes was offered an amazing gesture.

“We got the No. 1 seed,” a fourth said.

Another added: “Wild Card!? What is this??”

For some fans who would have purchased tickets anyway, their money will be refunded if a Wild Card is not needed.

A statement added: “If the Wild Card Playoff game is not played at GEHA Stadium at Arrowhead Stadium.

“Any tickets purchased for the Wild Card Playoff game are invalid and your money will be refunded to the payment method used.”

The Chiefs are currently unbeaten at 9-0 heading into their last seven games.
