A fake script for Friday night's fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul has gone viral on social media, sending boxing fans into a frenzy.
The fake message, posted by User X with just over 200 followers, went viral in the hours leading up to the fight scheduled for 11pm in Arlington, Texas.
“No way bro,” wrote @gregorxsamsa, whose post on the alleged text received hundreds of reposts. “The script has been leaked! #PaulVsTyson Jake Paul will knock out Mike Tyson!”
The script claims that Tyson got off to a strong start through two rounds before Paul began to rebound, eventually opening a cut above “Iron Mike”'s left eye.
In the fifth round, Paul allegedly knocked out the 58-year-old Tyson, securing the victory.
This was such a ridiculous (and criminal) idea, that fighting fans were quick to label the script as fake, including one person who described it as a “ChatGPT script.”
“Tyson is not going to ruin his reputation by coming out of retirement to fight a fixed fight,” an X user named Paul Jones wrote.
“They can organize a fight, but they can't script a hole cut out over Tyson's eye,” another skeptical poster wrote.

Friday's fight is Tyson's first professional boxing match since 2005, when he lost to Kevin McBride.
In 2020, he faced Roy Jones Jr. in a November 2020 exhibition which resulted in a draw.
Paul is 10-1 in his boxing career, with his only loss coming at the hands of Tommy Fury, the younger brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
