Texas Southwest Airlines flight going to Indianapolis struck by bullet at Dallas Love Field

A Southwest Airlines plane was hit by a bullet as it prepared to take off from Dallas Love Field Airport on Friday evening.

Southwest Airlines Flight 2494 returned safely to the terminal at Dallas Love Field after an apparent bullet struck the right side of the plane below the flight deck as the crew prepared to depart for Indianapolis, a Southwest Airlines spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

The spokesman said that no injuries were reported.

Southwest said it would accommodate its customers on another flight and added that law enforcement had been notified.

The plane was also taken out of service.

Dallas police confirmed to Fox News Digital that they are investigating the incident.

This is the second incident involving shootings at aircraft this week after a Spirit Airlines plane out of Florida came under fire on Monday while landing in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
