Saturday Night Live“Weekend Update” hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che had fun picking Donald Trump's Cabinet, with a special appearance by Bowen Yang cosplaying as Joe Exotic (from the Netflix series). Tiger King fame).
“On Wednesday, Trump nominated Matt Gaetz for attorney general, and Gaetz said the same thing he does when he sees a teenage girl: 'I'll do it,'” Jost joked. He added that Gaetz was chosen “after Trump remembered that his original choice had been found dead in a prison cell,” along with a photo of Jeffrey Epstein.
Next, Che criticized Elon Musk's new government efficiency department, which published a job listing calling on candidates to “be willing to work 80+ hours a week for nothing, but you can't be surprised that a white African man's first thought is slavery.”
Of course, Weekend Update would be remiss if we didn't mention Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his brain worms: “Kennedy, whose skin is always cooked to a perfect rare, will lead the Department of Health and Human Services, and I know he doesn't have a lot of experience, but I'm saying we should give him a chance,” Jost said, accompanying a photo of a syringe.
There was also a passing joke about the Tyson-Paul fight that had been broadcast live on Netflix the night before: “Last night, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson teamed up to defeat everyone who watched it.”
At this point, Yang Exotic has been called in to comment on his writing a letter asking Trump to pardon him from prison (the third time he's asked for it, and the second attempt directed at Trump) — as well as his request for a Cabinet position.
“All I did was take care of my cat, make love to my straight husband and try to kill Carole Baskin multiple times,” Young Exotic pleaded. “I was framed by PETA. You know, I've gotten to know PETA well over the past few years, Chi. I guess you could say I'm a PETA fan.”
At this point, Exotic is interrupted by a stuffed tiger paw that keeps jumping out of the camera to terrorize him throughout his gnawing.
“I have the perfect experience to be a director on a fish and wildlife movie,” the comedian joked. “Che, have you ever been in Life of Pi Attitude? It's the place where you're stuck on a boat with a tiger and your Indian friend.
When asked why he wanted to be part of Trump's cabinet, given that he briefly ran for president as a Democrat earlier this year, he replied: “Like my politics, my politics is state before partisanship.”
“Weekend Update” rounded out Sarah Sherman in full mascot as Mr. Bennet's widow Hazel, occasionally writhing, sad and flirtatious with Ghost.
The program was not the only one Saturday Night Live A sketch addressing Trump's lackluster Cabinet picks, including one from earlier in the night with host and musical guest Charli XCX who mocked Joe Rogan's podcast.
