Exclusive: The former senior vice president of corporate strategy for WME has joined the board of Insanity, the UK agency that represents the likes of Maya Jama.
Laura Edwards will become a non-executive director of the London store after five years in New York with WME, which she left several months ago. During her time at WME, she worked in mergers and acquisitions, talent and global strategy. She worked for Adidas and previously ran a consulting firm in London and New York.
At Insanity, Edwards will join the agency's leadership team and contribute to board meetings. Insanity recently achieved B-Corp certification, which is defined as “companies that meet the highest standards of certified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.”
Insanity stars UK stars including Jama, Mollie King, Adam Pearson and Zara McDermott. The company recently appointed a digital director for its production arm, Edd Buckley, who has worked on some of the UK's biggest entertainment shows.
“Edwards’ extensive experience scaling global media and talent businesses is a perfect fit for Insanity’s next phase of growth,” said Andy Farley, founder of Insanity Group. “She has a proven track record of leading international expansion and strategic development, and we are excited about the invaluable insights and experience she brings to the table,” he added.
“I am thrilled to join the Insanity Board of Directors, one of the most impressive leadership teams I have ever met,” said Edwards. “The Insanity team is redefining what it means to represent talent.”
