Sean “Diddy” Combs' lawyers are accusing prosecutors of taking advantage of private legal writings seized from his prison cell to keep him behind bars until his trial in May.
Attorney Mark Agnifilo accused the feds of “egregious government conduct” in new documents filed in Manhattan federal court.
Combs' defense team alleges that authorities previously raided his prison cell and seized documents that were legally privileged and should not have fallen into the hands of prosecutors, according to court documents.
Then, according to Agnifilo, they used the documents to ensure that no bond would be given to the music mogul.
“This is a matter of grave concern and must be addressed immediately with the utmost respect,” Agnifilo told Judge Arun Subramanian, who had scheduled a bail hearing for Friday.
Agnifilo requested an “immediate hearing” for prosecutors to clarify who initially authorized the search of Combs' cell, and allowed them to confiscate his papers and personal effects.
Didi, 55, faces decades behind bars.
Federal agents raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March, seizing hundreds of sex videos and a large collection of sex paraphernalia — including 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lube. The US Attorney's Office claimed in a statement that the sex parties were not always consensual.
Authorities charged Combs with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution.
In addition to the charges, he faces countless civil lawsuits from his alleged victims — including two from men who claim they were minors — aged just 10 and 17 — when they were horribly raped by the music mogul.
Combs has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. He pleaded not guilty and insisted that any sexual contact was consensual.
He requests that he be released and placed under house arrest through a $50 million bond package.
Neither the plaintiffs nor Didi's attorney responded to the newspaper's requests for comment.
