Dave Portnoy put Zach Bryan on blast after the country singer allegedly paid the UFC fighter to yell at him in front of his ex-girlfriend, Brianna “Chickenfree” LaPaglia.
The Barstools Media founder took to Instagram on Wednesday, where he talked about the packed presence of co-host “BFFs” at David Onama and Roberto Romero's UFC bout.
“I know I said I was done talking about that pathetic little man, Zack Bryan, […] “But listen to this story,” Portnoy, 47, said, summing up the situation that happened Saturday night.
He went on to explain that LaPaglia, 25, attended the fight and had to listen to Onama shout Bayan, 28, during his celebratory speech.
“I want to come back here next month to watch Zack Bryan concert,” Onama told manager Joe Rogan after his win over Romero in the octagon. “So, I'll be here for it.”
Portnoy then highlighted that the athlete admitted on Tuesday's episode of SiriusXM's “Fight Nation” podcast that he was not a fan of Bryan and was simply following his manager's instructions.
“So, boss [told me]“Zack Bryan is here, and he wants you to thank him for his show here in New York City,” Onama, 30, recalls in the episode.
“To be honest, I had no idea who Zack Bryan was. I was like, 'I don't know who Zack Bryan is, but I'm going to give you a shoutout, I'm going to give you some love,' and that's why I did a shoutout,” he said.
When the presenters asked him if it was a “promotion” or a “paid ad”, he said: “Yes, exactly. That's literally what it was.”
Portnoy then jumped back in to explain that fans initially thought the shout out “would be bad” for LaPaglia to hear as a viewer, before noting, “[Onama] He doesn't even know who fucking Zack Bryan is!
“This little 4-foot-8 psychopath is so pathetic and wasted that they have to beg the UFC guys to scream just to try and rub Brie's face?” Portnoy continued. “Like Brianna gives the af-k!”
The Barstool Sports founder went on to say that he realizes Brian is “popular” and has a strong fan base, so he “doesn't need to bribe people to say… [his] name.”
He continued: “We understand that you are world famous, but everyone knows that you are a loser, and now we know how pathetic, small and low you are.”
“It's embarrassing, by the way. You look like the youngest man who ever lived!”
Although LaPaglia talked about her plans to attend the fight on TikTok and even appeared on camera, it appears that Bryan was not present at the event.
Brian's rep did not respond to Page Six's request for comment.
The “Pink Skies” singer made headlines last month after he announced via Instagram Story that he and LaPaglia had split after a year of dating.
However, LaPaglia went on to claim she was “shocked” by the announcement after they agreed to let her share the news on her own terms.
She later accused Brian of emotional abuse and trying to silence her by paying her $12 million.
