The Country Music Association has awarded Alternative Disney President Rob Mills its 2024 CMA Founding President Award.
Mills, executive vice president of unscripted and alternative entertainment at Walt Disney Television, was honored last night during rehearsals for the 58th Annual CMA Awards in Nashville.
It comes ahead of the event hosted by Luke Bryan, Peyton Manning and Lenny Wilson tonight (November 20).
Disney, which recently acquired the rights to the Grammy Awards, has extended its contract for the CMA Awards in 2021 to run through 2026.
In addition to the awards, which air on ABC, Disney also holds the CMA Festival and CMA Country Christmas.
Sarah Traherne, CMA Chief Executive, said: “The CMA Founding Chairman’s Award, determined by our Board of Directors, celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to the CMA.” “Over the past decade, Rob's outstanding leadership has been instrumental in the growth and success of CMA's television properties. As we look to the next decade of collaboration, we are grateful to have a partner who not only supports country music, but continually seeks innovative opportunities within the network to advance our genre.”
