Henry Winkler admitted that he banned his daughter, Zoe Winkler, from appearing on reality TV for her own good.
“Do you remember when I was running to be ‘The Bachelorette?’” Zoe recalled to her father during Wednesday’s episode of her “What in the Winkler?!” podcast.
“Oh my God,” the “Happy Days” actor replied, “We put an end to that… just to protect you.”
Henry, 79, asked his daughter for a “thank you”, which she gave half-heartedly, before revealing that he had also banned her from appearing on another reality show.
She claimed that she was asked to appear in a series called “Quarter Life Crisis” alongside Kim Kardashian and Sarah Howard.
Zoe, 44, said Matt Hanna, an executive producer for VH1, caused a huge stir with the trio without her father knowing.
“[Hanna] I remembered that he came home and I met him outside.
“I did,” Henry confirmed. “It's very nice that you're here, and I can suggest some really good restaurants,” I said. [but] My daughter is not doing your show.
While Zoe's chances of becoming a reality star were shot down by her father, she said it worked out for the best.
“I became a teacher, which was the best job and what I always really wanted to do,” she explained.
Henry sweetly noted that she was “born” to be a teacher.
“If I were a young parent, at the time I saw the way you parent and the way you taught, I would have stolen your method and used it as my own.”
Zoe married Robert Raines in 2009, and they have three children.
During her candid conversation with her father in Wednesday's episode, she said that she feels passionate about being a mother and that she is “obsessed” with her husband.
She also noted that she is passionate about her non-profit organization This is About Humanity.
She founded the organization in 2018 to raise awareness for families and children separated at the U.S.-Mexico border.
