A CRYPTO investor has launched a $2,000,000 treasure hunt after burying five treasure chests.
California-based musician-turned-entrepreneur-turned-author John Collins Buck challenges treasure hunters and mystery seekers to search for chests using a series of clues.
The keys to “the greatest treasure hunt in American history” are laid out in Collins Black's book “There's a Treasure Inside.”
The clues have been designed to be as difficult as possible so that only the smartest treasure hunters can solve them.
The cleverly hidden puzzle boxes are also difficult to crack and can only be opened with a set of instructions provided by the cryptocurrency mogul, with Collins Black urging researchers not to force them open.
According to Collins Black, no one knows the location of the treasure chest, and he told Business Insider that it was pointless to question his friends and family.
Hidden in the five treasure chests are a Casasius Bitcoin (the first physical Bitcoin ever), a green Colombian emerald, a 2002 Shining Charizard Pokemon card, artifacts from a shipwreck, and a George Washington jelly glass.
Speaking to Business Insider, Collins Black said he had spent the past five years planning the epic treasure hunt, and had obtained a host of valuable items.
“I was actually trying to figure out what the sweet spot was for how big this product could be without making it too big, and I didn't want people to get too crazy,” he said.
He added that the value of the treasure is estimated at between $2 million and $3 million, saying: “If Bitcoin reaches $500,000 or $1 million, or the value of these treasures is $10 million in five to seven years and someone finds them, I think I will do it.” “. We will celebrate it and be happy about it.”
Collins Black also plans to uncover more evidence if the treasure is not discovered.
He said: “I don't have this desire to be long gone and there be the legend of John Collins Black's treasures.
“I don't want to do this forever.”
None of the chests are on private property, so anyone can find them, although Collins Black points out that you need to follow a series of clues to locate them.
A new treasure hunt will fill the void after the mysterious quest for the Golden Owl's treasure ends.
The Golden Owl was made entirely of gold and silver, with diamonds on the head. The hunt for the Golden Owl ended after 31 years.
Tens of thousands of people have joined the hunt since the publication of a series of puzzles and clues in the book “On The Trail Of The Golden Owl,” the BBC reported.
The Armchair Treasure Hunt was created in 1993 by communications expert Regis Hauser under the pseudonym “Max Valentin” and illustrated by artist Michel Becker.
During the reign of Max Valentin, Hauser buried a bronze statue of an owl in a secret location in France, with a series of 11 clues published in a book to help treasure hunters find the prize.
These clues were often short puzzles or word plays.
The identity of the winner or the location where the golden owl was hidden have not yet been announced.
Treasure hunters were in a state of joyful uproar after news of the find surfaced on the search's Discord forum.
One person said: “Finally – free!”
Another added: “I didn't think I'd live to see the day.
“It's like Covid. So good when it's over.”
A third added: “Oddly enough I feel relieved.
“I'm desperate to know the solutions now to know if I'm on the right track.”
