Rachael Ray admitted she is “petrified” and “nervous” in social settings in the latest episode of her new podcast after raising health concerns in recent months.
Rachel, 56, hosts a weekly podcast I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, which she launched in October.
On the November 26 episode, Rachel was interviewed by author Harlan Coben and discussed how nervous she gets in social situations.
“I'm so scared on social media, you have to go to a Christmas party or there's an event, I'm terrified because I'm not good at it. I know I'm not.
“I like to try things that I might be successful at and know that I'm not successful at it. I just get nervous.”
Harlan told how the first time they met at a party, he was the one who went to introduce himself.
“I was terrified,” she said of the meeting. “I stood next to the wall. I was terrified.”
Fan concerns
This comes after Rachel raised health concerns among fans with her recent videos.
In a clip of Rachael Ray in Tuscany, she appears to be whispering her speech during a cooking demonstration.
“Oh my God, is she okay? What happened?” one fan wrote on Instagram.
Another commented: “This is worrying. Something is not right.”
A third expressed: “I love you but are you okay? I'm so worried.”
Rachel did not address the concerns and instead filtered the comments on her videos.
She continues to post cooking videos from the episodes on her Instagram page.
Podcast Confessions
On Rachel's podcast, she hinted at health issues, though she did not confirm fan speculation.
The first episode of Rachel's podcast, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, aired on Tuesday 22 October.
Rachel spoke about her love of being a stay-at-home mom while living with her husband, John Cusimano, at their home in Lake Luzerne, New York.
“I'm a housewife. I love housework, I love being in the kitchen… I really love housework,” she told her guest.
Rachel then shared her love of “physical labor”, which she admitted has been on pause.
“I like to help carry firewood. I've had two bad falls in the last couple of weeks, so I haven't done that in a while,” she said.
On the November 12 episode, Rachel revealed why she wakes up at 4 a.m.
She told her guest: “My condition has become worse as I get older, because I feel that time may be shorter, and I want to have more time, every minute of it.”
On the November 19 episode, she talked about how her dogs helped her through her tough days.
“He brings a ray of life to you. What he brings to a person, that unconditional love, really gets you through the dark days,” she said.
“For me, if I'm having the worst day, or I'm sick as a dog, the things that make me feel better are coming home, climbing into bed with a blanket with my dog!”

“The powers you grant below remain effective if you become disabled or incompetent,” the document states.
WARNING: This is an important document. It gives the person you appoint (your agent) broad powers to deal with your property during your lifetime, which may include powers to mortgage, sell or dispose of any real or personal property without prior notice to you or your consent.
“These powers will continue to exist even after you become disabled or incompetent.”
“This document does not authorize anyone to make medical or other health care decisions,” the document continued. You can implement a healthcare proxy to do this.
Rachel only gave John authority for “real estate transactions.”

The lawyer explains
Beverly Hills attorney Adam Michael Sacks explained that power of attorney can be granted for certain reasons, including if the requesting party has health problems.
“It's something you can do if you're sick,” Mr. Sachs told the US Sun.
“A power of attorney can make certain decisions. There are certain things you have to sign if you own a house that needs to be sold and you are, for example, in a coma. With a power of attorney, it allows that person to sign on your behalf.
“Lawyer means someone who acts on your behalf. If I am your lawyer, I can go to court and act on your behalf. He will make the decision if you are not able to.”
He continued: “It is not common. One reason is when you know you have a problem, such as illness or aging.
“It should be someone you trust completely, like a husband. You'll let him make the decisions as if you were you.”
Aside from health reasons, Mr. Sachs said the power of attorney could be for financial assistance.
