What is the golden ratio?
The golden ratio is a system developed by the ancient Greeks to measure physical perfection.
The golden ratio is the ratio of a line segment that is cut into multiple segments of different lengths.
The golden ratio divides any line at 1.618, known as Phi, or the Greek letter ϕ.
It creates a proportion that matches both sides of a dividing line, and is believed to provide the most aesthetically pleasing result, whether it is the design of a building or the proportions of someone's hands and feet.
The golden ratio can be applied to nails by measuring sections of the index finger and noting that each section is approximately 1.618 times longer than the previous section.
