James Van Der Beek, who revealed earlier this month that he had been diagnosed with colorectal cancer, took time on Turkey Day to acknowledge how grateful he is for “this new relationship I have with my body.”

Van Der Beek posted a photo of his “blonde army” on Instagram on November 28 and wrote how “it's been a tough year…and I'm grateful for that.” Colorectal cancer is a form of cancer that develops in the colon or rectum.
