Michael Strahan jumped to Jimmie Johnson's defense after an apparent mishap.
Strahan was “saving lives” on Fox's Thanksgiving NFL special, host Curt Minifie laughed.
Johnson joined Strahan, Menefee, Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long in the Fox studio for Thursday's game.
The network is broadcasting the NFC East showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The usual Fox NFL Sunday crew had a different lineup for the Thanksgiving game.
The special effects and green screen made it seem as if the painting was in a more idyllic setting.
Stacks of hay from the back of the truck began falling onto the screen behind where Johnson was standing.
Strahan pranked his co-star by making it seem as if things were coming his way.
The New York Giants icon grabbed Johnson to make sure he was “safe” from the apparent threat.
Host Minifie joked that Strahan was “saving lives here.”
Johnson and Strahan put on an entertaining show on Sunday.
Strahan was left laughing at his counterpart's Dallas Cowboys claim of “false hope.”
“The Giants have some guys who can rush the passer, but Cooper Rush is quality,” Johnson said.
Bradshaw jumped in to rhetorically ask whether Rush should be the starter even when Dak Prescott is healthy again.
“No, I'm just saying they'll run away,” Johnson said.
“They will win today, they will win next week, they will win the week after that.
“They'll run away, and they'll have a little bit of false hope.”
Michael Strahan's NFL Career
Michael Strahan is one of the most recognizable faces on television.
But he entered his media career after a very successful stint in the NFL.
Strahan spent 14 years with the New York Giants from 1993 to 2007.
He was a seven-time Pro Bowler and helped them win the Super Bowl in 2007, ending the New England Patriots' hopes of a perfect season.
Strahan was also a two-time NFL sacks leader and also won Defensive Player of the Year honors.
The former Giants star set the single-season record with 22.5 in 2001 — a feat matched by JJ Watt exactly 20 years later.
He's one of the best defensive stars to ever play the game — finishing his career with 141.5 sacks and 854 tackles.
Strahan burst out laughing and hugged Johnson after the false hope claim.
Dallas recorded a 27-20 win over division rivals from New York on Thanksgiving.
It was the Cowboys' first home win of the 2024 season.
It improved their record to 5-7 and kept their faint playoff hopes alive.
Johnson will take Sunday off and miss Fox's weekend coverage, being replaced by Rob Gronkowski.
