Arch Manning scored one of the biggest touchdowns for Texas this season.
The Longhorns' 19-year-old quarterback Quinn Ewers, who was briefly sidelined with an ankle injury, entered late in the first quarter against Texas A&M at Kyle Field on Saturday night and made an immediate impact.
With the Texans facing fourth-and-2, Manning rushed for a 15-yard touchdown by diving to the end zone gate to give the Texans a 7-0 lead.
The impressive scramble completed a 93-yard drive, which included a key 26-yard run by Ewers, who appeared to be doing well despite ankle issues.
It was another shining moment for Manning, who played a fair amount while grooming himself to be the Longhorns' quarterback of the future.
He looked impressive while leading Texas to wins over UL-Monroe and Mississippi State earlier this season, when he served as the starter while Ewers recovered from a strained stomach.
Despite the relegation, Saturday night's appearance was a cameo for Manning. Ewers got back into the game on the Texans' next possession in the second quarter.
Manning returned to the game briefly when the Longhorns were inside the 10-yard line on Texas' second touchdown drive, forcing Texas A&M to call a timeout.
But Manning couldn't run the play on the drive as Ewers got back into the game after a timeout and finished the drive with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jaydon Blue to give the Texans a 14-0 lead.
