Police have launched a manhunt for a British stepfather who disappeared while on holiday in Jamaica as disturbing reports emerged about his secret criminal past.
Dawn Anderson, 64, stayed in a hotel after traveling on holiday to the Caribbean island with her Jamaican partner, Andre Morrison, 37.
But it has now been a week since the businesswoman was last seen leaving a hotel the morning after she headed to Montego Bay on a Virgin flight from the UK.
Her daughters revealed they felt extremely anxious after being unable to contact their mother or Andre, as police revealed he was a suspect in the murder.
Fashion retailer Dawn, a devout Christian who lives in Mitcham in south-west London, fell in love with builder Morrison when he was working on her Jamaican home in Roaring Falls.

But neither Dawn nor her family knew he had a criminal history and was once arrested on suspicion of murder, then released due to lack of evidence.
Her UK-based daughters were left stunned after allegations that a known fraudster called 'Mantis' emerged on the police's most wanted list.
The couple attended Roaring Falls Church together, where Bubbly Dawn was a popular and colorful figure.
They have also appeared on TikTok videos wearing matching tracksuits and African fashion imported from Ghana in videos promoting their brands.
But Morrison has now disappeared after contacting her family to reveal that his wife had disappeared on November 24.
Further concern spread after colleagues of the missing husband claimed he had confided he wanted to “get rid” of Down.
Adult daughters Crystal, Charmaine and Fiona Anderson have appealed for help in searching for their missing mother.
“From what you've told me he's a demon,” one of Dawn's daughters said when she learned of Andre's past in a chat on the YouTube channel.
Deputy Superintendent Shongai Mitchell of the Jamaica Police confirmed yesterday that Morrison once faced a murder charge but was released.
The policeman told The Sun: “He was arrested on suspicion of murder but there was no evidence to charge him.
“In another case, he was charged with intentional wounding and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
“He has an identical twin brother and his lawyer brought them to court and asked the witness to point out the accused.
The witness pointed to his brother and the case was dismissed.
“We cannot say whether Dawn has been harmed but our investigations include several agencies at this time to ascertain her whereabouts.
“We have made efforts to locate Morrison but are unable to release details of those efforts at this time.”
Dawn – who grew up in the UK but often spends the winter at her home in Jamaica – flew to the island on November 24 and stayed overnight at the four-star Hotel 39 in Montego Bay.
It is understood she stayed there with Morrison and was last seen going out at around 11.50am the following day.
Police confirmed they had spoken to Morrison but had since been unable to locate him.
Deputy Superintendent Mitchell told The Sun: “There are some inconsistencies in the husband’s account of how she disappeared.
“He indicated that he had taken her to Negril to do business and had not seen her since, and that he had reported her missing to the Negril Police Station.
But tests revealed that this was not the case. The husband has a colorful criminal past, and all attempts to reach him since then have proven fruitless.
“He is being treated as a prime suspect in connection with her disappearance, but based on the law, we cannot list him as a wanted person.”
“Upon landing in Jamaica, Dawn stayed at a hotel with her husband, but since leaving the hotel, she has not been seen or heard from.
“Family members contacted her husband who informed them that he had taken her to Negril and left her at a location where she indicated she had a phone to drop him off.
“He said that when he returned to collect her, she was not at the site and he had not seen or heard from her since.
“He further claimed that he visited the Negril Police Station and reported her missing after which he fainted and went to the Negril Health Center for treatment.
“But examinations conducted by the police and family members refuted these allegations.”
Speaking on a Jamaican YouTube channel, Fiona, Dawn's daughter, said: “My mother is a good person who has helped a lot of people and the whole family did not take this well.
“Andre wanted to meet my mum and made a hotel reservation, but as far as I know he has now disappeared and we don't have any numbers for him.
“I don't think he's staying at my mom's house because he took all his stuff.”
When the daughter was told about Morrison's criminal past, she cried, saying, “I can't even comprehend this. The whole family is not taking this well.”
