Miske, 50, was scheduled to be sentenced in the new year after being convicted in connection with a plot that saw his son's friend kidnapped and murdered, according to CBS affiliate KGMB-TV.

Fraser, 21, survived a car accident in November 2015, but Miske's son, Caleb, died from his injuries months later.

Miske tried to blame Frazier for his son's death, according to prosecutors.

In July 2016, Fraser disappeared without a trace, and his remains have not been found after more than eight years.

Miske was convicted of a slew of charges, including kidnapping-for-hire and murder-for-hire, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Cops are investigating the convict's death as a suicide, but it's not known if he was on suicide watch, CBS affiliate KGMB reported.

Alexander Silvert, a former federal public prosecutor, revealed that it is rare for prisoners to die by suicide.

“The guards are highly trained,” he explained.

“There are a lot of security cameras, so a death there is very rare.”

Fraser is believed to have died around July 30, 2016, and court documents, seen by KGMB, alleged Miske was the mastermind behind the plan.

Police believe Fraser was killed by the leader of an organized crime gang.

They claimed that Miske ordered one of his assistants to buy a white truck after seizing Fraser.

Cops also claimed he bought a $425,000 Boston Whaler to help dispose of the body.

During the trial, Fraser's girlfriend at the time, Ashley Wong, claimed she was offered a spa trip on the day he was believed to have been kidnapped.

But she became anxious when she was unable to communicate with her partner.

She revealed that she went to Miske's house but the lights were off.

Wong called Miske and asked her where her boyfriend was.

“He told me he was home,” she recalls.

“I couldn't believe it.”

Fraser's car, a gray 1994 Honda hatchback, was found two weeks after he was last seen.

She disappeared without a trace

Fraser disappeared without a trace, and Miske's legal team claimed he had nothing to do with the disappearance.

Miske's lawyers claimed Fraser smoked marijuana and was not taking medication for depression before his disappearance.

Wong stressed that her partner would not disappear, despite him recovering from depression after the incident.

In 2018, FBI agents admitted they may have been involved in a crime.

Four years after Fraser's disappearance, his father, William, spoke for the first time.

He revealed that he had a gut feeling that something wasn't right about four days after his son disappeared, KGMB reported.

“foul play”

Miske was charged with a slew of charges, including conspiring to unleash a chemical weapon into Honolulu nightclubs.

He was convicted of obstruction of justice and extortion.

The racketeering conspiracy and murder-in-aid racketeering charges carried a maximum sentence of life in prison.

This was despite Miske's legal team claiming he was not a monster, The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported.

The jury unanimously returned its verdict in the summer.

Fraser's mother described the ruling as “justice for her son.”

Wong described Fraser as a “superhero.”

“He's the reason why my kids and our kids and all the keiki in Hawaii can walk the streets, knowing that people like him won't be able to pick on families like mine,” she said.

During the trial, she said she would not stop searching for answers.

Miske was scheduled to be sentenced in January 2025.
