Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson “didn't really care” about the attention his postgame confrontation with Matt Eberflus received after Chicago's loss to the Lions on Thanksgiving.

During an appearance on 670 The Score on Monday, Johnson said he found out about Eberflus' ejection on ESPN and that the postgame confrontation came about because “enough is enough.”

“At the end of the day, there was frustration. There were words from myself that I expressed just because of my frustration with losing,” he said. “Part of what I said after the game was that I had been losing for five years. So, I mean I feel like being a high-level player like me, after a certain point, we're losing games like we've been losing games, somebody's got to voice something. It was one of those situations where it gets to that point where you don't remember everything that was said.

Poor time management late in the game ultimately cost Eberflus his job as the Bears lost their sixth straight game.

Four of the six losses came to the final game, which likely led to frustration within the Bears' locker room.

“It was just based on the frustration of losing,” Johnson said. “And that's what sparked it. Just some specific things and seeing the way things have gone over the last few weeks. From the outside looking in, you could tell it's the last few weeks. For me, this is the last five years of my fucking career.”

Eberflus was let go last Friday after he placed a call with local media and expressed confidence that he would coach the team's next game against the 49ers.

“I'm confident I'll be working in San Francisco and getting ready for that game,” Eberflus said during a Zoom call with reporters hours before his firing.
