A quick-witted Colorado cop commandeered a child's bike to chase and apprehend a fleeing criminal, hot pursuit video showed.

The dramatic chase unfolded as Lone Tree Police Officer Jacob Tarr was trying to arrest the alleged criminal in connection with a robbery in the Denver neighborhood on Nov. 23, authorities said.

The suspect – whose name has not been publicly released – took off running and jumped several fences before stealing a children's motorcycle during his getaway.

Tar's personal camera captured him quickly jumping on a small green bike from a family's yard and riding down the street in pursuit of the alleged thief.

A neighbor's Ring doorbell camera also captured the moment the officer playfully tore up the scooter.

Tarr was able to catch up and take the suspect into custody a short time later with the help of other officers, cops said.
