However, scan-and-go shoppers must still present proof of purchase before leaving the warehouse.
“Want me to use scan and go,” the shopper posted on X.
“Fine. But you don't trust me because I have to wait in a mile-long line for someone to check my cart.”
Scan and Go is a service offered by Sam's Club, not Costco.
The disgruntled shopper also claimed that company bosses don't trust store workers who manually scan items.
The US Sun has contacted Sam's Club for comment.
Receipt checks are something members must adhere to when they join a wholesaler.
Sam's Club says checks are being done to ensure shoppers are charged correctly.
But the concept of a pick-up check left some shoppers feeling insulted.
They believe the inspections are done because bosses don't trust shoppers.

Los Angeles attorney Camron Dolatshahi spoke to the U.S. Sun about receipt checks and a client's rights and options when it comes to asking them to show your receipt.
- There's been a lot of debate about how legal it is for a retailer to ask to see your receipt, but if it's in-store, it's perfectly legal. “There seems to be nothing illegal about it. You are still at the company headquarters and the reason they are doing this is to prevent thefts,” Dolatshahi confirms.
- However, if they kick you out of the store, that changes things, Dolatshahi said. “Location is important,” he explained. “If you're outside the store, and you're in the parking lot, and they come and accuse you of theft and that you have to show your receipt, I think that's a little bit of a different situation because now you're on your way.”
- Although customers are allowed to say no to receiving checks, it can cause problems if you do so and the store suspects you of theft. “You can say no, maybe it's causing unnecessary trouble for yourself because now you might have the police come to your house and follow up on it,” Dolatshahi said.
- If you're banned from leaving a store because you declined a receipt, you may have a legal case — but the store has almost certainly held you for a long time. “Let's say for hours, this is definitely false imprisonment, and they had no motive to do that,” Dolatshahi explained. “If a client is emotionally traumatized by being detained for false imprisonment, I would certainly encourage them [them] “to sue.”
- “I would say, show your receipt. It's just a really simple thing to do. If you haven't stolen anything, it's relatively easy to do,” the attorney advised.
