MADDI Neye-Swift is a TikTok creator known as @Cripandip, whose food videos often go viral on the platform.

On 3 December 2024, she attended the star-studded TikTok Awards UK & Ireland 2024 and received the prestigious TikTok Food Creator of the Year award.

Pickling anything and everything

Madi has been posting on her TikTok account since 2020, where she shared videos about her life and her love of cooking.

After posting for nearly three years, she suddenly went viral in 2023 with a funny video about pickles.

“I'm currently unemployed, so let's learn how to make pickles,” she proudly announces in the video.

Social media users fell in love with her relaxed, happy-go-lucky style of creating chaos, and the video quickly racked up 890,000 likes.

The video even sparked a debate about the food, with one user exclaiming: “I'm annoyed by people who don't know that a pickle is a cucumber, and a pickle is a pickled cucumber.”

Tik Tok Superstardom

Her account became very popular and soon Maddie was pickling fruits and vegetables of all different kinds.

They are pickled potatoes, potato chips, kale, etc.

Maddie soon branched out into posting videos detailing her special recipes and her favorite restaurants in London.

Her videos include recipes for onigiri, soup, and even nigiri.

The creator also has a series called “Junk Food Time,” where she opens up about her life while eating her favorite local takeout.

Cook a win

Maddie picked up an award at the 2024 UK & Ireland TikTok Awards, which was also attended by Michelle Visage, Bimini Bon Boulash and Lee-Anne.

She was awarded TikTok Food Creator of the Year, and spoke to the BBC about the video that changed everything.

“My life changed just by pickling cucumbers,” Maddie said.

She continued: “I was unemployed and I started a series of things I cooked while I was unemployed, and this random video of me pickling cucumbers went viral.

“Overnight it had 10 million views, it was crazy.”
