Emily Blunt has hinted that there is a sequel to the 2006 film The devil wears Pradaand a reunion with lead actors Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, could be on the cards.
“There's rumblings, there's things changing, but I don't know if I can fully confirm anything… but we'd all be happy to work together again,” Blunt said, responding to a question about a potential sequel at a chat event in the UK. Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia.
the Quiet place and Hired killer The star was speaking ahead of receiving an honorary professional award at the festival's opening ceremony later on Thursday.
She is among a group of stars arriving at the festival, which runs from December 5 to 14 in the Red Sea port city of Jeddah, along with Michael Douglas, Michelle Yeoh, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Eva Longoria, Andrew Garfield and Ranbir Kapoor.
When asked if there was a genre or type of film she hadn't appeared in yet that she'd like to tackle in the future, Blunt replied, “I'm always looking for a genre that can carve out a new space for itself in some way, like it's never been seen before.”
“I just saw Emilia Perez. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. You can't call it a movie musical… It's a completely unique experience,” she continued, referring to the movie musical that enjoys buzzy awards seasons.
She also spoke about her own experiences on the awards trail with the multi-Oscar winning drama Oppenheimer, saying it was a difficult but fun time.
“We knew we were in one of those indelible films, and when you know that, you're so proud to be there,” she said. “It's a little fuzzy, but I remember being thrilled about anything that was challenging on Oscar night.”
