Julia Fox deserves her flowers for this.
The “Uncut Gems” actress appears in Yayoi Kusama's painting “Flower Obsession,” which is on display as part of the artist's exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.
In the snaps that Fox shared on Instagram, she appears reclining on a bed of red flowers while wearing a completely sheer catsuit with a few strategically placed flowers, similar to Mena Suvari's famous dream sequence in the movie “American Beauty.”
The costume was designed by Melbourne-based company Wackie Ju and assisted by Jonty Knight.
With the help of stylist Brianna Andalur, who also assisted Knight, the New Yorker styled the eye-catching piece with red lace-up pumps by Mateja Glucevic.
Meanwhile, John Novotny was the mastermind behind Foxx's towering updo, which was adorned with matching red flowers.
The star's Victorian-style makeup — courtesy of Meg McConville — was the cherry on top of an already iconic fashion moment.
“I still can't wrap my head around this moment,” Fox captioned a post of her American Beauty-inspired look.
Fans were amazed by the charming reinterpretation.
“Mother keeps on mothering™️,” one follower wrote. Another added: “Imagine being the inspiration for yayoi kusama….you are ethereal.”
“American Beauty” star Mena Suvari apparently agreed to this honor; “It's so beautiful and wonderful to see how this film continues to inspire. Thank you for thinking of me and for all the love and support. It means everything,” she commented.
Last week, at the NGV gala in Melbourne, the fashion muse wore a stunning silver dress designed by Catholic Guilt.
The swoon-inducing dress was inspired by Kusama's mirror installation titled “Chandelier of Sadness.”
