Nothing will stop Ravens' Lamar Jackson from watching his first-ever performance with Beyoncé, not even his own football game.
Jackson, appearing tongue-in-cheek, told reporters Monday that he would come out at halftime to watch Queen Bey perform in Wednesday's Christmas Day game against the Texans at NRG Stadium in Beyoncé's hometown of Houston.
The 27-year-old Ravens quarterback was asked if he was disappointed that he wouldn't be able to continue the performance.
“No, because I'll go over there and watch,” Jackson replied with a smirk. “I'm going to go out there and watch, man. First time seeing Beyoncé perform and she's on our game? This is dope. I'm going to go out and watch. Sorry, [Baltimore coach John] Harbo. Sorry guys.”
When Jackson was asked if the outcome of the match could have any influence on his decision to come out to see the “Single Ladies” singer, 43, he seemed firm on his desire to see the performance.
“I'm not even thinking about the lead role,” Jackson said. “I was just thinking about seeing Beyoncé for the first time. I'm not saying it like that, it's not disrespectful. I know how people can take things.”
While it's unclear if Jackson is serious about his plan to actually go out at halftime to watch the concert, Harbaugh seems to suggest there may be an issue.
The Ravens coach also said he's not Beyoncé's biggest fan, but added, “I think I love her.”
“Does she do country [music] now? Do you think some of those country songs will be in there? “You have to inform me,” he told reporters.
Beyoncé is performing as part of Netflix's Christmas Day slate streaming on the streaming platform.
Netflix's pregame coverage begins at 11 a.m. on Christmas before the Chiefs and Steelers play at 1 p.m., and the Texans and Ravens kick off at 4:30 p.m.
