Talk about an ac-y joke.
Hannah Berner, who described Blake Lively as the keynote in a new Netflix comedy special, said she supports the actress after the latter filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against “It Ends With Us” co-star and director Justin Baldoni last week.
Berner, 33, joked about Lively being a “ct” on “Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year,” a barbecue-themed special hosted by Jeff Ross that features comics demanding redemption from 2024 “by throwing shade at the biggest moments.” Over the past 12 months, according to Netflix.
The former reality TV star-turned-comedian alluded to the headlines about Lively, 37, that made the rounds around the time her movie “It Ends With Us” hit theaters, which largely focused on rumors of her feud with Baldoni and painted her… She's a “mean girl.” “.
“CT was a trending word this year,” Berner said in a clip from the comedy special, adding: “I don’t think Blake Lively was that bad.”
“Torching 2024” was recorded on December 17, three days before Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in which she accused him of sexual harassment and claimed he instigated a “coordinated” and public “smear” campaign to “destroy her reputation.”
He denied these accusations.
Berner addressed the joke on Friday through a post she made on her Instagram Story.
“My joke on the Netflix show was filmed before news of the lawsuit broke,” Berner wrote. “To be 100% clear, I support Blake xoxo[.]”
The former “Summer House” star joked about other celebrities in her group, including Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly.
“Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have broken up. “She claims she found disturbing material on his phone,” Berner said. “I think it was his new album.”
The Post has reached out to Berner's representatives.
Lively has seen an outpouring of public support since news of her lawsuit broke.
Her This Is Us co-star Brandon Sklenar, 34, supported the actress on Monday, posting a link to a New York Times article about Lively's legal suit.
“For the love of God, read this,” wrote the actor, who plays Atlas Corrigan, Lively’s childhood sweetheart, in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel.
On Tuesday, one of Lively's co-stars, Jenny Slate, publicly defended the star.
“As a colleague and friend of Blake Lively, I express my support for her taking action against those who reportedly planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,” Slate, 42, told the Today show.
“Blake is a loyal leader, friend, and trusted source of emotional support for me and for so many who know and love her.”
“What has been revealed about the attack on Blake is very dark, disturbing and completely threatening,” Slate added. “I praise my friend, I admire her courage, and I stand by her.”
Baldoni denied any wrongdoing.
In a statement to The Washington Post, Baldoni’s attorney, Brian Friedman, said: “It is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such dangerous and categorically false accusations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its representatives, as yet another desperate attempt. To “repair” the negative reputation she gained from her statements and actions during the film campaign; Interviews and journalistic activities were publicly observed, in real time, and unedited, allowing the internet to form their own views and opinions.
“These allegations are completely false, outrageous, and intentionally offensive with the intent to publicly hurt and reshape the narrative in the media,” Friedman added.
