A teenage worker was killed Friday when the minivan he was driving collided with an oversized forklift inside a South Carolina amusement park, leaving the victim's family begging for answers.

Kamil Seavion Sewell, 17, died from blunt force trauma to the head when the go-kart collided with the forklift about 11:45 p.m. at Frankie's Amusement Park, according to the medical examiner's office, WYFF reported.

The teen's death was the result of an accident, the coroner's office said Sunday.

“He always had a smile on his face,” a co-worker said when remembering Sewell, according to the station.

“He was a very hospitable person. Very great and friendly to the guests, great and friendly to us and his co-workers. It's really sad that this situation happened when it could have been easily avoided.”

More information, including the cause of the fatal crash, remains under investigation.

Ryan James, the attorney representing Sewell's family, said their loved ones are “deeply mourning.”

“Actually, I have to be honest, I was very sad,” he said in a statement to Fox Carolina.

“After meeting with them this morning, it became clear that they want answers. They deserve it so much. As the day went on, my office began a fact-finding operation, with all eyes on causation, as well as the “who.”

The forklift was operated by another park employee.

Sewell worked at the park for about a year before his tragic death.

“At this time, Frankie's is providing information and assistance to both law enforcement and OSHA,” park general manager Jimmy Waddell said in a statement to the Greenville News.

“When the circumstances and cause of the accident are determined, additional information will be provided as appropriate. It is with a heavy heart that we share this news with you. Please keep Sievion and his family in your thoughts.”
