One TikToker (@Easy_Profitz) revealed the shocking retail hack in a video.
The shopper purchased a $300 Hoover ONEPWR vacuum cleaner, which is a cordless cleaning device.
This TikToker shared the exact steps they took to find the deal.
“The first thing you need to do is look for exactly this Hoover vacuum,” he said.
The Home Depot shopper then asked viewers to look for key details about the yellow price tag.
He shared that two numbers can reveal whether an item can be scanned for just a dime.
“And if it ends in 03, it will probably be a penny deal,” he added.
The shopper then asked customers to take the item to the self-checkout and scan it to see if it was on display.
He even revealed a trick shoppers can do if they can't find that little deal at their local Home Depot.
“If there's not a penny, come back in a week,” he said.
“Once the price shows 03, it's about to be a penny.”

Home Depot wasn't the only chain offering its customers deals just in time for the new year.
Dollar Tree shoppers were quick to score a party bag essential for just $1.25.
The chain sells foil balloons at an unbelievable price.
They're available in festive gold and silver, so they'll match a wide range of color themes.
“In addition, the strong foil material holds helium longer than latex balloons and cannot be popped as easily,” the retailer's website said.
The discount chain will also inflate balloons when purchased and if purchased online.
Customers simply need to take them to their local store to fill them up.
