After defeating Canada 4-1 in a New Year's Eve showdown, the USA National Under-20 Hockey Team has reached the quarterfinals of the 2025 World Junior Championships.
The tournament, held annually, features the ten best national under-20 hockey teams in the world. Team USA is the defending champion, having won gold just over a year ago; 10 players from that team are back this year, including New York Rangers players Drew Fortescue and Gabe Perrault.
With three wins and one loss in overtime in the first round, Team USA won Group A, which also included hockey powerhouses Canada and Finland.
