When it comes to Golden Globes afterparties, it's a new era. Gone are the days of sisterhood and sorority when we saw Paris Hilton being chased by a group of paparazzi in the Beverly Hilton lobby, and studios crowding every corner of the hotel.
Remember the 20th Century Fox viewing party? Party guests, after picking up their luxury goodie bag, would disperse north, south, east and west, ending up at a poolside HBO party. Somewhere in the mix, you'll find Netflix festival host Ricky Gervais.
Gone are the usual hosts HBO and Warner Bros./InStylealthough a new gang has emerged in popping champagne.
The good news coming out of Covid is that the party is still on; You may just need an Uber for that. Instead of all the big studios coming together for one night under one roof, the Golden Globes festivities are spread throughout this week and weekend, with Amazon/Vanity Fair taking over the Marmont and Paramount Bar at Cipriani Beverly Hills on Saturday. It all boils down to Sunday as Netflix, Universal, and UTA hold court hearings after the ceremony.
