The partial identity was released by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office, along with the names of 12 other victims, according to NOLA.com.

The office said all the victims died from blunt force injuries.

A Foreign Office spokesperson told The Sun: “We are supporting the family of a British national who died in New Orleans and are in contact with local authorities.”

Shams al-Din Jabbar, 42, is suspected of committing the terrorist attack when he drove his white Ford pickup truck into a crowd celebrating the New Year on the famous Bourbon Street.

The attack turned the street into a bloodbath after revelers were run over, resulting in dozens being injured.

Bombs were found in a Ford F150 Lightning and two were found planted in the area.

Hours before the attack, the FBI said Jabbar posted five videos on social media declaring his support for ISIS while traveling from Houston to New Orleans on the evening of December 31.

In the first video, Jabbar, 42, explained how he initially planned to hurt his friends and family, but shifted his attack because he was worried the headlines wouldn't focus on “believers and unbelievers”.

Jabbar, who Raya said was 100% inspired by ISIS, said in one of the videos that he joined the terrorist organization “before the summer.”

Agents raided the suspect's bomb factory in his dilapidated trailer in Texas following the attack.

The police found a Qur’an left open with a passage talking about “killing” for the sake of God.

FBI agents raided the man's dilapidated house Walnut is inspired by ISIS She found a bomb-making workbench in the bedroom filled with chemicals that could be used in explosives.

Other bomb-making tools seen in Houston's trailer include tools, eye protection and weighing scales.

There are now fears that other high-profile public events, such as the state funeral of former President Jimmy Carter, could be “the perfect target for terrorists.”

International security expert Will Geddes told The Sun that US officials “cannot afford” to allow another strike at the event, which would receive global attention.

A US Army spokesperson confirmed to ABC that Jabbar served in human resources and information technology roles from 2007 to 2015 in the Army, but was not involved in direct combat.

A man named Abdul-Jabbar in Beaumont, Texas, told the New York Times that he was the suspect's brother.

He described Jabbar as “a true sweetheart, a nice guy, a friend, really smart, caring.”

He added that Jaber converted to Islam at an early age, but “what he did does not represent Islam.

“This is a kind of extremism, not religion.”
