Zendaya suffered a health scare due to dehydration during filming Sand Dunes: Part Two Due to the remote desert location of the sequel.

The Golden Globe winner revealed she suffered heatstroke while filming the Denis Villeneuve adaptation in Jordan, where the nearest bathroom was a short walk away, so she chose not to drink water.

“It was so hot, and I remember thinking, 'Man, the bathrooms are so far,' because we had to walk such long distances to the sites. If you have to pee, you need at least 10 minutes to get out of the costume,” she explained. W Magazine.

“I was like, ‘Damn, I don’t want to drink so much water.’ “I had a huge fear of peeing or peeing on myself, honestly, in the suit,” Zendaya continued. “One day, I didn’t drink enough and had heatstroke. I felt very barfi. I remember calling my mom on the bathroom floor saying, “I feel bad.” She was like: Did you drink water today? I said no. I thought I was smart, but you can't do that. So we learned our lesson.”

After David Lynch adapted Frank Herbert's novel Sand dunes For his 1984 space opera, Villeneuve returned to the source material for his adaptation Sand dunes (2021) and this year Sand Dunes: Part Two. The first film won six Oscars, with both films grossing $1.12 billion worldwide.

The franchise has spawned a prequel series Dune: Prophecywhich recently debuted, with new episodes airing Sundays at 9pm ET/PT on HBO and streaming on Max.

Villeneuve told Deadline in November that he plans to begin filming the third installment in the film series, based on Herbert's 1969 novel. Christ DunesIn late 2025 or 2026.
