Kinski grew up in Prague and trained with a personal fitness trainer before going to school.

“I remember that sometimes I was too lazy to get out of bed, but then I got off the metro in the dark and said to myself that I knew what I was doing,” he told the Czech website Seznam Zpravy., external

He wanted to be as successful as his father, his role model.

“When I was young, we went to watch his matches, and then at home we talked about different playing situations and how he could have done something better.”

Work ethic was a major part of his upbringing – and his parents also taught him how to be calm and confident. Watching interviews with successful people from different fields, or repeatedly reading a book about Kobe Bryant, became additional sources of inspiration.

Kinski still has a long way to go to emulate his compatriot Cech, who holds the record for the most clean sheets in the history of the English Premier League with 202 matches.

“It is not possible to repeat his career,” Kinski said. “I have a different path, but I hope I will get my chance in England in the same way he did.”, external

When it comes to playing style, according to Šjabal, Cech and Kinski don't have much in common.

“I prefer to say that there are similar personalities,” he said. “Cech was a great professional. When he made mistakes in national team matches, he never made himself a victim, nor would he wallow in remorse. Kinski is the same.”

Sejabal is backing Kinski to make his name at Tottenham and not spend time on loan.

He concluded: “I expect him to progress and become a high-quality goalkeeper in the English Premier League.”
