SAMSUNG turns your TV into a super “smart” device that does more than just change channels and launch apps.
The South Korean tech giant is incorporating artificial intelligence into its latest range of luxury TVs with the ability to understand what you're watching – and it can even alert you about what's happening in your home while you're away.
By integrating with other smart home devices, the TV can provide real-time updates about your home, with features like safety alerts and daily updates for peace of mind when you're out and about.
For example, it will detect bad behavior of your pets, and show them good behavior through photos of the Samsung robot vacuum cleaner.
When you get home, everything is summed up on the screen.
Elsewhere, Samsung used artificial intelligence to help movie fans avoid wasting time endlessly searching for an actor's identity or other information.
Instead, their remote will allow them to access Click to Search, which instantly displays details about whatever is currently displayed on the screen.
So, if you see a meal you like the look of, it'll get you a recipe with all the ingredients — if you have a Samsung smart fridge, it'll also ping all the details to make it easier.
For world cinema fans, there's also a handy live subtitles tool, which is useful when subtitles aren't available.
This comes at a time when Samsung is moving forward with its plans to put artificial intelligence at the forefront of most devices after launching the “AI era” with its Galaxy S25 smartphone last year.
The company has already announced artificial intelligence for its latest refrigerators and freezers.
Samsung's new AI displays are led by a new flagship 8K TV called the Neo QLED 8K QN990F.
The so-called “Samsung Vision AI” will be integrated into the upcoming OLED and QLED models as well.
Samsung revealed its big plan for artificial intelligence at CES 2025, a major technology exhibition held in Las Vegas every year.
“Samsung does not view TVs as one-way devices for passive consumption, but as interactive and intelligent partners that adapt to your needs,” said SW Young, President and Head of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
“With Samsung Vision AI, we're reimagining what displays can do, connecting entertainment, personalization and lifestyle solutions into one seamless experience to simplify your life.”
AI will also be on hand to enhance picture and sound quality by analyzing what you're watching and “dynamically adjusting” them for the best experience.
As part of this campaign, Samsung announced that it has worked with Microsoft to add Copilot AI technology.
Elsewhere, Samsung has updated its Premium Frames range which features a sleek, painting-like frame that displays the art on the screen when not in use.
Samsung says the Frame Pro is the latest addition, with brighter colors, sharper contrasts, and improved local dimming for deeper blacks.
