COSTCO members found a brand-new lunch item on the shelves.

The core product has a special feature and design similar to the brand names, causing some shoppers to call it “the best” than others.

It's made by Costco's own brand, Kirkland Signature, which was founded in the 1990s and manufactures a variety of merchandise for warehouse retailers.

Kirkland Signature items typically feature budget-friendly prices, and the new Seal Top Freezer Bags in quart and gallon sizes are no different.

Members can get the Quart Plus version for $14.99 with 264 items in-store or online, and the Gallon Plus for $15.99 with 192 items.

The freezer bags are nearly identical to similar offerings from Ziploc and other popular companies, and members have claimed the quality is better.

“I buy them in quart and gallon sizes and prefer them to the name brands,” one member wrote in a recent Reddit thread.

They specifically cited the “pleated bottom” found on Kirkland Signature freezer bags as allowing more space for food items than competitors.

This, combined with a double zipper for secure closure and freshness, made the Kirkland Signature Edition the best in their eyes.

“The double pleats and zippers are why I like them more than name brands,” they continued.

Collective agreement

Other members echoed similar thoughts.

“Yes, it's a few dollars cheaper than the others, won't go back to the main brand,” another person wrote.

A third said: “They're so good. We got the quart size. They're tougher than a zipper and easier to close IMO.”

For reference, 152 gallon-sized Ziploc freezer bags are $24.90 on Amazon.

136 quart-sized Ziploc Freezer Slider Bags are also $23.99.

Members will save about $9 each and get more bags.

Food madness

While the freezer bags are member-approved, Costco recently destroyed many of them after discontinuing $1.25 French fries in its food hall.

It was only offered in select stores, mostly at locations in Canada and the United States across Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Although Costco has not made an official announcement about the discontinuation, members have cried out online saying they don't see the $1.25 fries anymore or haven't seen them since 2020.

“They took a hiatus during the pandemic and never came back. I miss them,” one person wrote in a separate Reddit post.

“My local Costco used to sell the best french fries I've ever had and I've stopped doing that,” another wrote.

Some also fear the popular $1.50 hot dog could be taken away in recent years, but it remains a staple in the Costco food hall.

Costco recently brought back another beloved food court item, but it's a little different from the original version.
