The scene went viral Social mediaCowboys fans on X asked Jones to sell the franchise, which missed the playoffs this season with a 7-9 record, and become a Hollywood actor.
“Jones should sell the Cowboys and become a full-time actor. I'm not kidding,” one wrote.
“Jerry Jones “He may be bad as an owner, but he may have a future as an actor,” commented another.
A third added: “Please act Jerry and let me be the owner and general manager.”
Jones' role in Landman was his first acting role in over a decade.
The longtime owner has five other acting credits, according to IMDB, appearing on The League in 2012, two episodes of Entourage in 2010, and three episodes of ArliSS from 1996 to 2000.
Jones also starred in an episode of Coach in 1996 and Cubed in 2011.
The Cowboys' season was not easy for Jones as the team lost quarterback Dak Prescott to a season-ending injury in November.
The organization finished third in the NFC East after winning the division last season with a 12-5 record.
The Cowboys lost to Washington leaders in the final Sunday game of the regular season, and Jones has yet to tender his commitment to head coach Mike McCarthy for the 2025 campaign.
However, similar to his sentiments all season, Jones praised McCarthy's head coaching abilities after the Week 18 contest.
“Mike is one of the best coaches I think out there,” Jones told CBS Sports.
“I was appointed coach here because I believed in it.
“He has done absolutely nothing to diminish my opinion of him as a coach and I really admire the way the players get to know him and get on with him.
“That's important because he had some times where both those players individually as well as the team were not having fun times.
“He was there for them.”
McCarthy's contract will expire the next week.
His future has been under the microscope all season and he has a 49-35 record with the Cowboys.
McCarthy has a 1-3 playoff record.
