Wild and Mad Men, the Truck Down the River, and of course more cowbells – just some of the classic sketches on display in the new trailer released today for Peacock's four-part docuseries SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night.
“Anyone can do comedy,” former cast member Tracy Morgan says at the beginning of the trailer before delivering the punchline, “but are you funny?”
The upcoming docuseries promises many funny moments from history Saturday Night Live. In the trailer, Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, Will Ferrell, Dana Carvey and Amy Poehler are among the famous faces talking about the venerable NBC late-night series. Andy Samberg reveals he vomited after his test.
Peacock says the docuseries will offer a behind-the-scenes look “at some of the most iconic elements and rich history of the American late-night comedy institution.”
The documentary series, executive produced by Morgan Neville, includes four episodes, each of which takes “a different creative approach to the fabric of SNL and embraces the unique vision of its award-winning directors: Emmy Award-winner Robert Alexander (Episode 101), Academy Award-winner Marshall Curry (Episode 102 ), Emmy nominee Neil Berkley (Episode 103) and Emmy nominee Jason Zeldis (Episode 104).
Episodes include “Five Minutes” starring Ayala Cohen, Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg, Beck Bennett, Bill Hader, Bobby Moynihan, Bowen Young, Cherie Oteri, David Spade, Ego Nwodim, Fred Armisen, Heidi Gardner, Jason Sudeikis, Jay Pharaoh, Jeff Blake, Joe Piscopo, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kenan Thompson, Kyle Mooney, Lindsey Shookus, Marcy Klein, Mike Shoemaker, Molly Shannon, Nasim Pedrad, Pete Davidson, Stephen Colbert and Tracy Morgan.
