WALMART has come under fire for a pick-up order that left a customer waiting for their groceries.

Now, they are threatening to file a formal complaint with the retail giant over the incident.

The angry customer claimed there was no parking for his grocery order when he arrived.

Additionally, by the time they found a parking space, many of the orders before them had not yet been fulfilled.

“I received an order for a @Walmart pickup earlier today,” the customer wrote in a post to X this month.

“More than 65 orders, no parking in pickup or curbside areas, wait approximately an hour and a half.”

Tired of the process, they decided to cancel the pickup order and head inside to get what they needed themselves.

“I walked in and got my stuff in 20 minutes,” the customer said angrily.

However, the hassle wasn't the main problem, as they claimed they only saw teenage Walmart employees trying to manage a backlog of pickup orders and the “chaos” of talking to other frustrated customers.

“I will be filing a complaint with the company simply because management left the teens out to deal with the chaos,” they added.

“I felt so bad.”

Walmart's official account has not yet responded to X's post.

The Curbside Pickup was first introduced at Walmart in 2013 with tests at a store in Denver, Colorado.

It expanded a year later, and quickly grew to over 1,000 locations by 2017.

In 2024, there's home delivery, Curbside, same-day pickup, and more benefits for Walmart Plus members.

Walmart Plus is the retail giant's subscription service, where most customers pay a $98 annual fee or $12.95 per month for a variety of perks, including free delivery and shipping, gas discounts and even a Paramount+ subscription.

Arguably one of the biggest benefits of being a Walmart+ member is the Scan and Go feature through the Walmart mobile app.

Those who want to use Scan and Go can do so by pulling it into the app while in the store and scanning merchandise as they place it in their shopping cart.

After everything is scanned, a single barcode will be generated for all items that can be swiped at self-checkout and verified by a Walmart employee before checking out.

The same benefit is also offered to Sam's Club members.

VIP only

While this is certainly a bonus for some, regular customers have recently been angered by some stores' decision to ban self-checkouts that prefer Walmart Plus members to use Scan and Go instead.

Some have claimed that about 60% of Walmart's local self-checkout kiosks are now reserved for Walmart Plus members.

Others argued that they were effectively “forced” to pay a $98 fee to use self-checkout, but Walmart denied that assertion.

Walmart also promised an investigation recently after being accused of “customer failure” over a payment discrepancy.

There are also three major changes expected at Walmart in 2025.
