Joe Biden has insisted he would have defeated Donald Trump had he stayed in the 2024 presidential race.

President-elect Donald Trump, who defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in a landslide victory in November, is scheduled to be sworn in on January 20.

Now, with 12 days remaining in his presidency, Biden said he thought he would have secured a second term but admitted he did not want to be a president in his mid-80s.

“It's rude of me to say that, but I think yes,” Biden told USA Today when asked if he could win the 2024 election against his predecessor and soon-to-be successor.
