Piers Morgan has decided to exit Rupert Murdoch's media empire after three years in order to take ownership of his company Unsupervised YouTube channel.

Deadline first revealed last September that Morgan was unlikely to renew his deal with News Corp. Now the former CNN host and News Corp have confirmed his departure.

Morgan has agreed to take control Unsupervised Through his production group Wake Up Productions in exchange for a four-year revenue-sharing deal with News Corp.

Morgan told Sky News: “I've had a great time working at News and I'm delighted that we will continue our partnership.” “Owning the brand allows me and my team the freedom to focus exclusively on building Unsupervised To freelance, editorially and commercially, and in time expand to include only my content.”

Morgan has 3.6 million YouTube subscribers and has teamed up with Red Seat Ventures, a sales agency that has worked with the likes of Tucker Carlson, to increase the channel's ad revenue.

Morgan signed a three-year contract with News Corp in 2021, joining primarily as the face of TalkTV, Murdoch's attempt to launch a conservative-leaning news network in the United Kingdom.

TalkTV was unsuccessful and Morgan announced that he would move his show, Piers Morgan Uncensoredonly on YouTube before the network disappears on UK TV over the summer.

“This is a new business model that gives Pierce the flexibility to grow his own business by leveraging his position as a true expert on global opinion,” said Scott Taunton, executive vice president and president of News Broadcasting.
