Fans of both NFL teams in the metro area must now get used to watching the playoffs without sharing their favorites or any personal interest in rooting.

The Jets have missed the postseason for 14 straight years since their last appearance in 2010, while the Giants have done only slightly better in the past decade, with a 1-2 record in their two years. They have qualified for the playoffs (2016, 2022) over 13 seasons since their last Super Bowl win in February 2012.

So, aside from betting endeavors, which few of us still don't partake in aside from the occasional box office, what can fans of the teams that call MetLife Stadium home look for – even gloating – to spark a personal interest in the six Wild Card matchups in This weekend, which consists of a doubleheader on Saturday, a three-game set on Sunday, and a standalone contest on Monday night with only the top-seeded Chiefs and Lions receiving a bye?
