Paris Hilton has documented her return to her Malibu beach house that was “turned to ash” in the wake of the horrific Los Angeles fires that swept through the surrounding celebrity-packed area.
Hilton walked through the devastation of the $8.4 million home on Thursday as she contemplated her loss, which left her feeling like “my heart had been shattered into a million pieces.”
“I'm standing here in what used to be our home, and the heartbreak is truly indescribable,” she wrote on Instagram.
“When I first saw the news, I was in complete shock – I couldn't process it. But now, standing here and seeing it with my own eyes, I feel like my heart has been shattered into a million pieces 😢💔.”
The heiress and businesswoman watched in horror as her lavish property, which she acquired in 2021, burned “to the ground on live TV” on Wednesday.
Hilton, 43, said the property “wasn't just a place to live, it was a place where we dreamed, laughed, and created the most beautiful memories as a family.”
“Phoenix's little hands created art that I will cherish forever, with love and life filling every corner. Seeing her reduced to ash…it's devastating beyond words 💔,” she said, referring to her 1-year-old son.
The Malibu home is not Hilton's headquarters. The “Cooking with Paris” star owns multiple properties in the Los Angeles area.
The “Simple Life” star sympathized with others going through a similar reality, adding: “A lot of people have lost everything.”
“It's not just the walls and ceilings, it's the memories that make these houses homes,” she added. “It's the pictures, the mementos, the irreplaceable parts of our lives.”
However, Hilton noted that she feels “incredibly lucky” that her “loved ones, my kids, and my pets are safe.”
“This is the most important thing, and I hold on to that gratitude with everything I have. And even more grateful to all the firefighters, first responders and volunteers who are risking their lives to fight these fires,” she wrote.
“And to everyone who is experiencing this pain, please know that you are not alone. We are in this together. We will rebuild, we will recover, and we will rise stronger than before,” she continued, reminding her 26.6 million followers on the platform to “keep your loved ones close.” .
“We cherish the moments. Life can change in an instant, and the love we share is what truly matters. Sending all my love to everyone who is hurting right now,” she added.
Hilton is one of tens of thousands of celebrities forced to flee their homes in Pacific Palisades and surrounding areas.
Five fires tore through Los Angeles County, burning nearly 36,000 acres of land with no containment in the Eaton and Kenneth fires.
Firefighters were able to contain six percent of the Palisades fire that broke out on Tuesday.
The fires are believed to be fueled by strong winds, “dry fuels” and low humidity.
At least 10 people died, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
