Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid has issued a warning to his team about looking forward to a third straight Super Bowl.
Reid, 66, wants Patrick Mahomes and Co. to stay focused on the next game in their bid to make history.
Kansas City earned a first-round playoff berth after earning the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
They'll have to win two more games at Arrowhead Stadium to clinch a spot in Super Bowl LIX.
The Chiefs are aiming to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
But Reid told his stars to only look to next weekend's qualifying round.
“The important thing is to stay focused on the team we have in hand.
“It's important as coaches that we know all these teams and come up with a game plan that the players can implement.
“If you start getting caught up in the what-ifs and all that, you're going to get in trouble.
“You just have to go into the next game, play your best and see how the chips fall.
“If there is anything that gets in the way, get rid of it because it will hinder you instead of helping you.”
The Chiefs will play their divisional round game on January 18 or 19.
Kansas City has already played against all six teams that have qualified for the AFC playoffs as they play this weekend.
Their losses this year came to the No. 2 seed Buffalo Bills and the No. 7 seed Denver Broncos.
But the Chiefs also face the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024.
“We've actually played, which is crazy, all the teams in the playoffs.
“You can't be satisfied with that.
