Dune actress Zendaya has sparked speculation after debuting a sparkling diamond on her ring finger at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.
Tom's father then cleared up the speculation on Friday when he wrote a blog post about his son's proposal.
In the post confirming his son's engagement, he compared the way Tom handled his proposal to how he handled his proposal to Tom's mother, Nikki.
“Tom, as you know by now was very well prepared. He bought a ring,” Dominic wrote on his Patreon account.
“He spoke to her father and got permission to propose to his daughter.
“Tom has everything planned… when, where, how, what to say, what to wear…
“On the other hand, I was completely unprepared, as if I didn’t take it seriously.”
Tom's father then went on to say how he was concerned about how the spotlight could put a strain on their relationship.
“I worry that their combined stardom will put the spotlight on them and the corresponding demands placed on them, yet they constantly overwhelm me by handling everything with confidence,” he said.
Fears of romance in showbiz
“Although show business is a messy place for relationships, especially for celebrity couples, they crash and burn in public, and they are too numerous to mention.
“With our example, with Nikki helping this family and my 'wisdom' and study in getting things mostly wrong but somewhat right at the same time, I'm quite confident they will form a successful union.”
This comes after The sources said TMZ That Tom popped the question in a romantic and intimate atmosphere.
Zendaya revealed the ring, made by British jeweler Jessica McCormack, at the Golden Globe Awards, where she lost to Demi Moore in the Best Actress category.
Low romanticism
The couple kept their relationship private after it was confirmed that they would be dating in 2021.
However, Tom and Zendaya started dating while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016.
The pair denied dating rumors during the press tour for Spider-Man: Homecoming, but in 2017, People magazine reported that they were dating.
In November 2024, before their engagement, Zendaya expressed her admiration for working with Tom in an interview with Vanity Fair.

“I love working with him. He's so talented, so passionate about what he does.
