NBC News Announces Changes To White House And Capitol Hill Teams With Trump Administration, GOP-Control Of Congress

NBC News is making a series of changes to its teams at the White House and Capitol Hill, as is usual with a new administration and a shift in control in Congress.

Garrett Hacke, who covered Capitol Hill for four years and covered Donald Trump for the past two years, is moving to the White House as senior correspondent. Yamish Alcindor and Vaughn Hilliard will serve as White House correspondents. Hilliard has also covered Trump for the past two years. Alcindor covered Trump during his first term.

Peter Alexander will continue to serve as chief White House correspondent, and will be joined by senior correspondents Kelly O'Donnell and Gabe Gutierrez. Monica Alba and Aaron Gilchrist will also remain White House correspondents.

On Capitol Hill, Ryan Nobles will become chief Capitol Hill correspondent. He joined NBC News in 2022 and reported on Congress, including the impeachment of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and the congressional hearings on Hunter Biden. Julie Tserkin will remain a Capitol Hill correspondent covering the new Congress.

The digital team includes Peter Nicholas, chief White House correspondent, and Katherine Doyle, White House correspondent. Henry Gomez, Matt Dixon and John Allen will assume additional responsibilities including new management.

On Capitol Hill, Scott Wong, chief congressional correspondent, and Sahil Kapoor, chief national political correspondent, will continue to lead digital coverage.
