A charity concert to raise money for Los Angeles wildfire relief will be held in late January with a yet-to-be-announced lineup limited to musicians who call the greater Los Angeles area home.
The charity concert, dubbed FireAid, is organized by Live Nation, an entertainment company that also owns TicketMaster.
All proceeds will go toward “rebuilding infrastructure, supporting displaced families, and developing fire prevention techniques and strategies to ensure Los Angeles is better prepared for emergencies,” according to Live Nation's website.
The ceremony is scheduled to be held at the new Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, but sources tell TMZ that organizers are also considering moving it to the Kia Forum down the street.
The sources said that the huge size of the forum may be more suitable for the large attendance that organizers expect.
There are supposed to be only 24 spots available in the lineup although more than 50 artists have expressed interest in participating, according to TMZ. Organizers are trying to add additional slots to meet the huge demand.
For those who can't make it to California, the ceremony will be streamed live, according to TMZ.
Los Angeles wildfires sweep through the county, displacing thousands. Parts of the county closest to the Palisades and Eaton fires have been completely destroyed as firefighters continue to try to douse the flames. The Hearst Fire is nearly contained, but other fires are burning as high winds return.
So far, 25 people have been killed and dozens are still missing.
